Kelvin Odih Ranks First 4-Star Commit for WVU Since 2020

West Virginia received a commitment from 2025 four-star guard Kelvin Odih on Wednesday night. Odih is the first four-star high school commitment the Mountaineers have secured since Isaiah Cottrell in the 2020 class.

Odih chose WVU over Louisville and Rutgers. Odih joins 2025 three-star forward Braydon Hawthorne as the two commitments for West Virginia in the past week.

Cottrell played two seasons at West Virginia before transferring to UNLV where he’s finishing up his eligibility. Cottrell originally committed to WVU in June 2019. Since Cottrell, WVU has collected high school commitments from Taj Thweatt, Seny Ndiaye, Jamel King, Kobe Johnson, Seth Wilson, James Okonkwo, Josiah Harris, Josiah Davis, Ofri Naveh, Carmelo Adkins, Jonathan Powell, KJ Tenner and Hawthorne since 2020, over the course of Bob Huggins, Josh Eilert and Darian DeVries’ tenures.

Odih is a senior at SoCal Academy who visited WVU in late August.

“Everything was great. I really enjoyed my time over there. The coaching staff was very welcoming,” Odih said at the time to WV Sports Now.

WVU assistant Tom Ostrom led Odih’s recruitment and visited him in-person at SoCal Academy in September.

Odih will be committing at the Zuccolo Rec Center in Providence, RI., which will be open to the public with free food and parking.
