Fans Advertise Their Desire for WVU to Fire Neal Brown on Billboards
WVU fans may have failed at flying their message over Milan Puskar Stadium, but all anyone will have to do is simply drive around town to know what Mountaineer Nation thinks of Neal Brown.
There are billboards running a “Fire Neal Brown” message around Morgantown. This ad will apparently run throughout the next month.
I went to bed early. I woke up to text messages with these in them. It appears the plane was grounded, but three billboards will be running this ad for the next month. pic.twitter.com/gCFmwLCSnR

These billboards are located at the Mileground, on Don Knotts Blvd. and Stewartstown Rd.
It’s no secret there are plenty of WVU fans who want Brown fired. However, it’s one thing to voice displeasure on social media, but it’s another to actually put your money where your mouth is on the topic. And now this ad on billboards can be added to a website dedicated to the goal of pressuring WVU to remove Brown.
WVU fans started a website “FireNealBrown.org” dedicated to removing Brown as head coach.
The site features Brown’s record and negative facts about his tenure at WVU while also allowing people to donate money to the Mountaineer Athletic Club with the hope it goes towards paying Brown’s buyout.
Fans Create Website to Pressure WVU to Fire Neal Brown
The person who created the website even added answers to possible frequently asked questions.
What’s the purpose and what’s next?
“Our purpose is to send a message, that we fans, have had enough of this. We believe that message has already been received even without the plane having flown. However, we are in the process of delivering our commitment. If you can dream it, we’re trying to do it. Our message will get out there.”
Why not raise money for something else? Isn’t this mean?
“The members of the Wolf Pack are donors to the university, the CRT, and the MAC. We’re members of your communities. Last year we raised over $100k in 48 hours for the MAC. It went largely unnoticed. Our message is not personal, it has nothing to do with Neal Brown as a person. This is about purely the product on the field.”
Brown’s Mountaineers currently sit at 4-4 (3-2, Big 12) during their final bye week of the season. Regardless of the roller coaster ride of the 2024 seasons, fans also point to Brown’s 35-33 overall record at WVU and his 3-17 mark against ranked opponents as why they want the program to turn the page with Brown in his sixth year in West Virginia.
For a related story, WVU head coach Neal Brown was fired up in support of his team after their win over Arizona.
