WVU WR Traylon Ray Latest Skill Player to Enter Transfer Portal
WVU football has lost another skill player, as receiver Traylon Ray will enter the transfer portal, according to a report by ESPN.
A sophomore from Tallahassee, Fla., Traylon Ray has been a contributor since he arrived in Morgantown. As a freshman in 2023, Ray caught 18 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns.
Ray moved into a larger role this season, making 28 receptions for 426 yards and four scores before his season was cut short due to an injury against Baylor.
Ray’s standout game as a Mountaineer came in the 2023 Duke’s Mayo Bowl, where he scored a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game and finished with a career-high 91 yards.
A member of WVU’s 2023 signing class, Ray is close friends and roommates with fellow 2023 signees and skill players Jahiem White and Rodney Gallagher, neither of whom have made their intentions for the future known.
The Mountaineers have lost a lot of production through the transfer portal recently as Ray joins fellow receivers Hudson Clement and DayDay Farmer, running back CJ Donaldson and offensive lineman Tomas Rimac.
