WVU Football Beats Out Pitt, Other P4 Programs for Transfer OL Walter Young Bear
The holiday week kicks off with another commitment for the WVU football program. West Virginia secures an offensive lineman to help bolster a key position under new head coach Rich Rodriguez.
On Monday, Walter Young Bear announced his commitment to become a Mountaineer on social media. Bear comes to West Virginia after spending four years, including one as a redshirt, at Tulsa.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 312 pounds, Bear hails from Norman, Okla.
Bear’s commitment comes after he received a recent offer from WVU rival Pitt. In addition to West Virginia and Pitt, Bear had offers from Cal, Stanford, UCF, Virginia and WKU.
Bear now becomes WVU’s third transfer commit, joining wide receiver Oran Singleton and defensive back Jordan Scruggs.
