WVU Football Gains Northern Iowa Transfer for RB Room
West Virginia’s second transfer commit of Friday is on the offensive side of the ball. Northern Iowa running back transfer Tye Edwards is locked in with WVU, per the A&P Sports Agency.
In 2024, Edwards (a 6-foot-4, 230-pounds) rushed for 1,012 yards and six touchdowns in 2024 while averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
Edwards also spent time at UTSA, Hutchinson Community College and Georgia Military School throughout his college career.
Edwards was named a JUCO All-American in 2021.
The Palatka, Fla. native entered the transfer portal on Dec. 26 to take advantage of a new NCAA rule, granting eligibility to players who played at a junior college. He then took an official visit to WVU on Jan. 7.
