Deion Sanders Adds NFL Legend to Colorado’s Coaching Staff

Deion Sanders is back at Colorado for another season and bringing even more star power to the Big 12. On Thursday, Colorado announced the addition of another Hall of Famer to their coaching staff.
Sanders has hired NFL legend Marshall Faulk as his new running backs coach. This now provides Colorado’s backs with the opportunity to be taught by one of the greatest and most accomplished running backs in history.
One of the greatest to ever play the game.

With Warren Sapp already in the fold, the addition of Faulk makes it three Pro Football Hall of Famers on the Colorado staff.
Faulk, who played college football at San Diego State from 1991-93, ran for 12,729 yards during a 12-year NFL career. The Indianapolis Colts drafted Faulk with the second overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft. He won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and then spent five seasons with the Colts before being traded to the then St. Louis Rams, a move that sent him on a course to revolutionize the position.
With the Rams, Faulk won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award three times, was named the NFL MVP in 2000 and helped guide the Rams to two Super Bowls, highlighted by winning Super Bowl XXXIV 23-16 over the Tennessee Titans. Faulk will forever be known as a key piece of the “Greatest Show on Turf” era Rams.
After a disappointing 4-8 season in his first year in Colorado, granted still a jump from the school’s 1-11 record in the prior season, Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 9-4 year and an appearance in the Alamo Bowl in 2024.
Sanders, Faulk and Colorado will be in Morgantown on Nov. 8 to face Rich Rodriguez and West Virginia.
