As the WVU football staff continues to try to strengthen their recruiting footprint in nearby Western Pennsylvania, they have a top WPIAL edge rusher coming to town during spring practice.

South Fayette High School’s Anthony Charles announced his upcoming visit to West Virginia late Tuesday night. “I will be at WVU on March 8th! That you for the invite, Rich Rodriguez, William Green and Blaine Stewart. Looking forward to it!,” said the 2026 recruit on X (formerly Twitter).

Charles included Stewart in his post due to being in his recruiting territory. After being initially pursued by Neal Brown’s staff, Charles was re-offered by WVU on Feb. 2.

Listed at about 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds, Charles is considered a three-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports as far as national outlets and has been drawing interest from Power Four programs all over the country. Cincinnati, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Syracuse and Wisconsin stand out as big brands who have offered Charles so far. He also has offers from Buffalo and Toledo.

Charles is coming off a monster junior season in which he recorded 28 total tackles (20 registered as solo), six sacks, two forced fumbles and 15 quarterback hurries. He was even responsible for a blocked field goal and a blocked extra point.

Charles has additional spring trips planned to Michigan State and Wisconsin after his time in Morgantown.
